Everything we experience physically is actually a reflection of a deeper resonant experience.
So when your parents warned you as a little child not to talk to/take gifts from/go off with a stranger, it, in itself, is not even the first resonant reflection of it, but rather the second.
GENESIS 6 - The first resonant reflection of it was when the B'nai Elohiym (Sons/Classification of G-d) began to seduce mankind through the serpent (spiritual/energetic immaturity).
They began to occupy the physical realm instead of remaining unseen and in the ether.

They also decidedly undermined G-d/YHVH's instruction to them, to merely watch and to teach mankind, to rather molest by taking wives and having titan children with them, and to corrupt mankind (teaching egoism, treachery, war-mongering, charismatic charm, sexual deviance, etc.) through their divisive influence.
So likewise, when it comes to esoteric concepts like communicating with the spirit world, best to not.

All spirits need the cooperation of physical bodies or a 'host' to achieve
their agenda (to which NO spirit is without agenda), and most will
lie/promise with the wisdom and tact of the ages to get the cooperation of
anybody willing.

Why?
Because
pan-dimensional NON-cooperation (the opposite of living in 'unmerited
favor') seems to be one of the worst passive agonies one can ever
experience, whether in the living, or in the realm of 'Sheol'/non-living.
It can be Hell for those caught in this state.
Hell is a penal dimension meant only for the offending B'nai Elohiym, not for mankind.
However, to keep a class system, demonic spirits may convince humankind to remain with them until death, whereas that soul becomes lost to that level of Samsara (spiritual developmental plateauing).
Doing so puts unredeemed mankind under demonic spirits' self-proclaimed authority in the world, so basically, in Hell they'll have humankind as minions to push around, very much like in prison life.
"When an evil spirit leaves a person, it passes through waterless placesseeking rest but finding none.
Then it says, 'I will return to the person I came from.' So it returns and finds its former home empty, swept, and in order.
Then the spirit finds seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they all enter the person and live there. And so that person is worse off than before.
That will be the experience of this evil generation."

Therefore, one does well to turn a deaf ear to spirit voices.

| Beware of unrepresented spirits |
Rather, the completed or finalized work of their heart/hands remains, and yet does so against the physical forgetfulness of time, but they themselves (their soul) now abide with whatever spirit in which they spent their life, which is tricky because of the scarcity of Eternal, Sovereign spirit "sponsors" or "hosts".
Wanna talk to your loved ones?
Gotta 'call whose house they belong to/abide/live in', to have a word with their Love/Wisdom, to which if having anything to do with core Goodness, is proprietary to the LORD, G-d YHVH.
Not
knowing this, humans will often entertain malevolent spirits that know
to appear as someone that a human has an emotional attachment with, that may
be imitated.

Because
even spirits gotta eat, and they consume expressed energy, but they for
the most part do not care if this energy is expressed by one in
happiness or pain, ecstasy or anguish.
Which is more, the main objective of the unsigned spirit is always the same, to set up a kingdom (realm or situation) as good as if not better than that of G-d, to which is given to and inherited by the Righteous of mankind, and not to the angelic/spiritual, as demonic spirits would like.
Much like if you were the heir/heiress to a company that has been looked after you for years by a board of "interested parties" that have their own plan to steal your inheritance and sell it off for scraps.
They will do what they can to discredit you, and to influence you to squander what you do have, if you let them.
Which is more, the main objective of the unsigned spirit is always the same, to set up a kingdom (realm or situation) as good as if not better than that of G-d, to which is given to and inherited by the Righteous of mankind, and not to the angelic/spiritual, as demonic spirits would like.

They will do what they can to discredit you, and to influence you to squander what you do have, if you let them.
You're smart enough to realize that the "Nigerian prince" in your email inbox needing your bank account number is a phoney, right?
Well so are these spirits that need human assistance to achieve even the smallest of things to our detriment for solely their own benefit.

You do remember the rooftop partygoers in the movie, "Independence Day", that believed their alien correspondents meant to be no more than a cuddly buddy, or someone who was willing take them onto new heights?

Yeah, don't be them.
Basically, the only things you'll ever hear me say to most spirits is "come out, and away", and "get behind me", as I recognize, and realize (to aggressively vocalize into reality) the Authority I/We now have over the world because of the Love of G-d/YHVH through His Son, Yeshuah Mashiach/Jesus Christ.
